It's official: Don Sligar, as the drummer for Morning Dew, has been inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. We were part of the many family & friends there to witness the occasion in Lawrence, KA.

Because there had been huge amounts of snow & zero degree temps the previous week, Terry, Barb, Phil & Penny decided to leave the rigs in warmer country (LA), rent a car & drive up together. This was approximately a 1100-1200 mile excursion northward but well worth the sitting-in-the-car time. Morning Dew did a great job performing even though most of them had been off the stage for 39 years. Don did a terrific job twirling his sticks & wearing his coonskin cap. 

The surprise: Although snow was still piled in parking lots, the sun was out & it was in the 60s. Lawrence has a beautiful, thriving main street with lots of independent stores & restaurants doing a good business. Being a college town certainly helps & we enjoyed our time.

Now we're back to our camper & starting a more relaxed return trip tomorrow.
